To allow for faster travel time and more reliable service for bus riders, the Department of Transportation (DOT) has implemented the 14th Street Transit and Truck Priority pilot project. 

Traffic Restrictions

Starting Thursday, October 3rd, private vehicle travel is restricted on 14th Street between 3rd and 9th Avenue from 6 AM to 10 PM daily.

General traffic will be allowed on 14th Street for vehicles making pick-ups or drop-offs or accessing garages, but they must turn off the street at the next available right turn.

Only buses, trucks, and emergency vehicles are allowed to make through trips along 14th Street.

Bus Routes

The MTA has provided bus riders with a new M14 Select Bus Service across 14th Street. Before boarding the bus, customers must pre-pay for the trip with a MetroCard or coins using the kiosk at the bus stop.
