City Canvas is a pilot program that will temporarily allow installation of approved visual art on certain protective construction structures such as construction fences and sidewalk sheds located on or over City-owned buildings, sidewalks, and/or streets.

The Department of Cultural Affairs (DCLA) issued a call for applications from qualified not-for-profit cultural organizations in September 2018. DCLA will convene a panel of City representatives to review submissions and select one or more organizations to implement the Pilot.

Artworks must be printed or painted on vinyl material (solid or mesh) that can be installed on sidewalk sheds or construction fences.

The deadline for submissions was October 12, 2018.

You can get more information online about the rules and regulations of art placement.
