The NYC Department of Consumer and Worker Protection (DCWP) settled the lawsuit against T-Mobile, MetroPCS, and several Metro by T-Mobile dealers.
As part of the settlement, T-Mobile agreed to pay $100,000 to a claims fund for eligible consumers. DCWP will administer the fund.
You can file a claim if, on or after September 5, 2016, a MetroPCS or Metro by T-Mobile store in New York City:
- Sold you a used phone as new,
- Overcharged you, OR
- Refused to accept a valid return within 30 days of your purchase (between September 5, 2016 and October 31, 2019)
If you have more than one claim, submit each claim separately.
The deadline to file a claim is June 23, 2022.
